Ocean of ideas

On May 6, 2026, the "KARP" Creative Art Space hosted an art workshop titled "Ocean of Ideas," dedicated to the Soviet people's Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. How can one tell a child about the Great Patriotic War in a way that allows them to not merely hear a date, but truly grasp its significance? The gentlest and most reliable path is through creativity. When little fingers fold and glue pieces together, history comes to life. The child ceases to be a mere observer and transforms into a creator: they do not simply know *about* the holiday—they personally craft its symbol. Working alongside their parents, the children created greeting cards that served as their own personal "Thank You" to the generation of victors. During the workshop—which utilized a mixed-media technique combining appliqué and collage—the children worked with colored paper and sturdy cardstock, learning to arrange and affix elements one by one, thereby gradually bringing their compositions to life. The central elements of the craft—the St. George Ribbon and the Red Star—found a place of honor on these commemorative cards!
