2021

Tararabumbia Open Festival of Theater Groups

For the fourth year in a row, "Tararabumbia" brings together theater groups from different cities and countries
and gives them the opportunity to speak the same language - the language of the theater. During this time, theater-goers from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladimir, the Kaliningrad and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as the Republic of Estonia and the Republic of Belarus became participants in the festival. Even the pandemic could not make us take time out, in 2020 the festival
went online with great success.

This year the theme of the festival is Russian literature - from classics to contemporary authors. 51 theater groups from the Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kirov, Tula, Kaliningrad regions, Yekaterinburg, Minsk and St. Petersburg presented their versions of theatrical productions based on the works of Pushkin, Chekhov, Ostrovsky, Lermontov and many other remarkable writers and playwrights.

The award ceremony of the Festival winners was held on October 31 at 15.00 in a remote format in the group of the social network "VKontakte" https://vk.com/ tararabumbiafest.

2020

Tararabumbia Open Festival of Theater Groups

The festival continued the established tradition - in the spring of 2018, performances by amateur theater groups were held on the stage of the Galaktika House of Culture as part of the Theater April project, and in 2019, the Let's Play Shakespeare! festival was held, where 14 groups from Petersburg, other regions of Russia and the Republic of Estonia.

This year the festival was held online and was dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer and playwright Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. 23 theater groups of different age categories competed for the title of the best. The geography of participants was extensive: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chelyabinsk region, Kaliningrad region, and even the Republic of Belarus. Everyone shared their creativity with the audience and received an objective assessment of the professional jury.

It is difficult to overestimate Chekhov's work: his works surprisingly combine love for people, lyrical sadness, and the surgical accuracy with which he reveals human vices. "A unique and incomparable artist of life" created more than 500 works and rightfully became one of the most famous playwrights in the world, a classic of world literature. His works have been translated into more than 100 languages, and his plays have been staged in many theaters around the world for over 100 years.

Read the classics, read great works, get inspired and get ready for the next festival, which will be held in October 2021!
